History

The Rowan Group was formed based on a shared vision of delivering exceptional value with an absolute commitment to providing client and quality-focused professional services.

The Rowan Group was founded in 2001 by three investment management industry professionals and former leaders of Thomson Financial's Professional Services Group. The co-founders, Tom Secaur, Marc Mallett and Dan Houlihan have over 30 years combined experience servicing global asset managers.

Tom, Marc and Dan were drawn together by a simple service philosophy:

  • Learn your client's business
  • Apply expert knowledge
  • Continually deliver, evaluate and improve service value

About Our Name

Rowan is symbolic of effort, intelligence and focus. The Rowan Group is named after Andrew Summers Rowan, a U.S. Army hero during the Spanish-American war and the feature character of the business essay "A Message To Garcia". "A Message To Garcia" is a classic of business literature and one of the top ten selling books of all time.

"Rowans" don't just do what is expected of them; they surpass the expectations of others in their pursuit of excellence.
